Instructions
  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Use a large bowl and allow to stand 10 minutes or until mixture becomes bubbly.
  2. Add corn oil to yeast mixture. In separate bowl combine flour and salt. Pour half of flour into bowl with liquid and stir slowly with spoon until well incorporated. Add remainder of flour and continue to stir until incorporated.
  3. Begin kneading dough with the palm of your hand in bowl. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and continue kneading until no longer flaky and crumbly (about 2 minutes).
  4. Form dough into ball and place in a large buttered bowl. Roll dough around to coat with butter from bowl. Cover with towel and allow to rise at room temperature until size has doubled (about 4 hours).
  5. Punch down dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Transfer to deep dish or springform pan. Press into pan and up sides.
  6. Top with sliced mozzarella, then meat, additional toppings and sauce. Bake on a preheated insulated cookie sheet (or stone) at 475 degrees for 35 minutes.
