Instructions
  1. Cook bacon in a large (6 quart) soup pot. After bacon is browned, add onion and celery. Continue cooking until they are soft and translucent. Add chopped cabbage and bay leaves. Continue to cook until some of the cabbage begins to brown. Stir in flour and cook for two more minutes. Add all remaining ingredients except the beef. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer. Add beef and stir. Cook for a least 90 minutes. or until cabbge is soft and beef is tender.
